Meet Gil Lillard

Gil has over 40 years in the insurance business and has helped countless clients protect their families and legacies. A lifelong resident of Waco, Texas, Gil Lillard spent much of his young adult life as an entrepreneur. After taking business, psychology and general education courses at McLennan Community College, Gil launched a career in food service, and at the end of 14 years he had six hamburger restaurants, a catering company, a vending machine supply company, a convenience store, and a wholesale sandwich manufacturing company. And in his spare time, he ran his parents’ liquor store!

Gil always wanted a way to help people in a more meaningful way, and was introduced to the insurance industry through a family friend. As he has done with everything in life, he quickly made a success of his new career, and soon moved to Austin, Texas, to work as an agent with a major insurer. Always striving to grow in his career, he completed the required coursework to become a Life Underwriters Training Council Fellow (LUTCF), and became a Registered Representative. He expanded his professional expertise to include not only life, health, and property and casualty insurance solutions, but also a wide range of planning strategies, ranging from estate planning, Medicare planning, retirement planning, and much more.

Gil realized that becoming an independent insurance agent and advisor would offer his clients the greatest possible access to the competitive products and effective planning strategies they need during challenging economic times and so he opened his own agency to provide the best service possible to his clients.

Gil’s hard work has been recognized many times by industry organizations, and he has been a member of the Million Dollar Club, the Master Agent Club, the Quality Master Agent Club, the 20/20 Achievement Club, the President’s Club, and the Round Table Club. He was named the Most Outstanding Life Agent. Gil also served on the Woodway City Council for 8 years, and was Mayor Pro Tem of Waco from 2010 to 2012. He has also helped with fundraising for the West Shore Volunteer Fire Department.

Married for over 40 years, he and his wife have four grown children.
